To mark World Interfaith Harmony Week 2023, we will be exploring St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art – one of just a handful of interfaith museums in the world.

The World Interfaith Harmony Week takes place on the first week of February of every year and aims to promote harmony between all people of all faiths and none. Events take place across the world over the month of February, seeking to spread a message of harmony and tolerance among the followers of all the world’s religions, faiths, and beliefs. Its message invites everyone, excludes no one, and is entirely voluntary. Check out this year’s calendar of events here.

This year, Interfaith Glasgow is looking forward to marking World Interfaith Harmony Week by hosting an event at St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art on 18th February for refugees, asylum seekers, and those who wish to meet and welcome them. The museum situated, in Glasgow’s East End, is named after Glasgow’s patron saint who brought the Christian faith to Glasgow in the 6th century. The galleries are full of displays, objects and stunning works of art that explore the importance of religion in peoples’ lives across the world and across time. This event aims to introduce people who have recently arrived and settled in Glasgow to the city’s religious diversity.
