Thank you to everyone in Glasgow and around the world who joined us on Sunday 31st October for the COP26 Vigil in George Square!

Over 1,000 participated – either in person or, via the livestream, from all over the UK and around the world, from Malaysia to Kenya, South Africa to Greece, and the USA to India (and a further 4,000 – and counting – have watched it since)!

It truly was an extraordinary act of interfaith solidarity, the likes of which – even those of us at Interfaith Glasgow and Interfaith Scotland who’ve been involved in interfaith work for a long time – had never witnessed before.

The atmosphere was prayerful and intense, with many people visibly moved, as participants from nine different religions rose in turn to offer their prayers for COP26 and the future of our shared home, before observing together a minute’s silence.  Do watch the recording if you missed it!

What an incredible start to Scottish Interfaith Week 2021, the theme of which shares the theme of COP26:  Together for Our Planet!  This is a pivotal time, not just for us here in Glasgow, but for the whole world.
