Huge congratulations to Sharran, Zain, Hannah, Kajul and Ruby (we hope you feel better soon) who were the interfaith youth team who created the “We Belong to Glasgow” film as part of the “Stepping into Diversity” project in partnership with West of Scotland Regional Equality Council. It great to them together and celebrate their achievement and share that success with their families. Each of the team achieved an “Ascent” Saltire Award in recognition of the time they spent volunteering on the project – well done to you all

Interfaith Glasgow welcomes the newest member of our team, Kemal Okan, who has started with us as Project Worker.  Kemal will be working on our South East Glasgow project which is funded through the South East Integration Network up to March 2015.  This project will be making connections with faith and belief communities in the South East of Glasgow to run a series of community meals in the various places of worship in this part of the city.  These meals will be an opportunity for people from all backgrounds to experience some of the diversity which exists in the South East and will also be an excellent opportunity for dialogue too.  To find out more please contact Kemal on projects@interfaithglasgow.org Kemal Okan

rose smallInterfaith Glasgow are sad to be saying ‘goodbye for now’ to our project manager Dr Rose Drew, who is leaving us to have a baby.  We wish her and her family the very best of luck and are looking forward to hearing her news soon.

To cover for Rose during her maternity leave we are delighted to welcome Michael Wilson.  Michael has been involved in equality work, in particular with minority ethnic and faith communities, since he graduated from the University of Dundee all the way back in 2005.  He is currently on secondment from his role as Deputy Director of the West of Scotland Regional Equality Council until September 2014 covering the position of Project Manager at Interfaith Glasgow while Rose is on maternity leave. read more →
