People from diverse faith and belief backgrounds are already doing great work helping provide food for those who need it.

Let’s make even more of a difference by working together!

Together with The Transformation Team, we are organising an evening on Thursday 30th April for people involved in food poverty initiatives and for those who want to get involved. Details below.

This is an opportunity to meet eachother, learn about what’s already happening and develop possibilities for collaboration.

The two parts of the evening are ticketed separately and registration is via Eventbrite:

For those already involved in this work see: “Food Justice for Glasgow: Growing an Interfaith Network” (5.45/6pm – 8.30pm)

For those interested in volunteering see: “Food Justice for Glasgow: Interfaith Volunteer Fare” (7.15 – 8.30pm)

Food Justice for Glasgow: Growing an Interfaith Network

Thursday 30th April, 5.45/6 – 8.30pm

The Pearce Institute

840-860 Govan Road, Glasgow G51 3UU

This event will bring together people involved in food poverty initiatives in the Glasgow area, many of which are faith-based, to connect with one another and develop possibilities for working together.

This follows on from a successful event (“Food Justice for Glasgow: An Interfaith Response”, 23rd March 2015) where participants suggested developing a network that would enable co-operation through the sharing of information about local food poverty projects.

This will be an opportunity to:

  • connect up with similar projects the city
  • explore the possibilities and practicalities involved in growing an interfaith network
  • learn about the support that can be provided by Interfaith Glasgow and The Transformation Team
  • recruit  volunteers from diverse backgrounds (please state your interest in this when placing your booking)

A free, locally sourced buffet dinner provided by Locavore will be served at 6pm. Registration is from 5.45pm.

Booking essential. To book your place click here or for more information please contact Magdalen at magdalen.lambkin@interfaithglasgow.org Or by phoning Interfaith Glasgow on 0141 4206982

Food poverty in Glasgow is rising.

Here’s your chance to make a difference!

There are numerous small groups in Glasgow – from a wide variety of religious and non-religious backgrounds – that are working hard to provide food for those who need it. They are reliant on volunteers and they need your help.

At this event you will:

  • Hear about the importance of this work
  • Meet those involved
  • Find volunteering opportunities to fit your schedule with a food bank, soup kitchen or food growing project.

What you will gain:

  • Knowledge that you are making a difference in an area of real need
  • Friendship
  • An insight into other religions and cultures by working together for the common good
