Scottish Interfaith Week 2012
Scottish Interfaith Week in Glasgow kicked off with a Celebratory Civic Reception at the City Chambers, hosted by the Deputy Lord Provost and attended by 30 guests including religious leaders, faith community members, Council members, and local dignitaries.
During the week, events throughout the city included, for example, visits to places of worship in the West End; a ‘Sharing Light’ interfaith service in the Gorbals, organised by Bridging the Gap; and a meeting of Glasgow’s ‘Women of Faith’ – a dynamic group of women who meet regularly for interfaith dialogue. On the Friday, Interfaith Glasgow hosted an Interfaith Schools Day at St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art, where we worked with twenty pioneering young people from three Glasgow schools (and their teachers), who are interested in fostering pupil-led interfaith activity in their schools.
